Lifecycle Sustainment Manager
Calgary, AB – Hybrid (Mondays and Fridays working from home, and Tuesdays-Thursdays in the office)
The Lifecycle Sustainment Manager leads the logistics team in support of avionics sustainment activities and future program logistics requirements. This role oversees day to day tasking, workflow management, repair cycle visibility, and the coordination and delivery of logistics and engineering sustainment support outputs. Acting as a key liaison between Logistics, Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, CM/DM, the DND, and external vendors, the Lifecycle Sustainment Manager helps ensure effective sustainment of repairable items and contributes to the overall operational readiness of the program.
Areas of Responsibility
- Act as the supervisory primary point of contact for daily task coordination and issue resolution within the logistics team.
- Monitor workload distribution and ensure timely completion of logistics and engineering sustainment deliverables.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to team members, promoting best practices and continuous improvement.
- Assist in hiring and onboarding new team members.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders (e.g., Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations) to align operational priorities, timelines, and commitments.
- Monitor and report task status, escalating risks, constraints, or delays as required.
- Support the development and maintenance of logistics processes, documentation, and tools.
- Lead and participate in team meetings, planning sessions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Participate in scheduled program cadence activities and provide required logistics inputs and supporting materials.
- Support other duties as assigned to advance the company’s operational and strategic pursuits.
Proven Ability / Key Skills
- Proven ability managing aerospace or defense related sustainment or technical operations teams, projects and/or programs.
- Extensive hands-on technical knowledge with military or civil aviation equipment.
- Familiarity with logistics systems, inventory management tools, and ERP platforms used in commercial or military environments. Previous proven ability working with maintenance and sustainment information systems in civil, military, aerospace, or similar regulated industries, including tracking repair cycles, managing sparing levels, and maintaining supportability and technical data.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Excellent leadership and team coordination skills.
- Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment in a fast-paced environment.
Desirable
- Supply Chain Management and/or PMI/PMP certification is an asset.
- RCAF or Canadian Military veteran with knowledge leading diverse teams.
- Specific defence logistics/maintenance systems (e.g., DRMIS, Maintenix, ADAM, DMS) and DND AF9000 processes knowledge.
- Airworthiness understanding and training.

The successful candidate must be eligible to obtain Government of Canada Secret-level security clearance.
