Supplier Compliance Engineer
Location: Gloucestershire or Remote (with significant travel)
Ontic, a leading licensor and manufacturer of complex engineering parts for the global aerospace and defence industries, are now recruiting for a Supplier Compliance Engineer to join our Quality Compliance team where youll support us in ensuring our global supply chain consistently meets the highest aerospace standards. This role can be based in Gloucestershire or remotely, with regular international travel required.

The Role:
As a Supplier Compliance Engineer, you’ll play a critical role in maintaining a compliant and high-performing supply chain, ensuring our suppliers meet stringent aerospace quality and regulatory standards. You’ll be responsible for conducting supplier audits, supporting onboarding and qualification activities, and driving improvements in supplier performance and compliance.
Working closely with both suppliers and internal stakeholders, you’ll lead the investigation and resolution of supplier-related quality issues, ensuring effective containment and robust root cause analysis. You’ll also carry out source inspections at supplier sites, ensuring product conformity prior to shipment and alignment with engineering and customer requirements.
This is a highly visible, field-based role requiring regular travel to supplier sites (up to 80), where you’ll act as a key partner in strengthening supplier capability, improving processes, and embedding a culture of continuous improvement across the supply chain.

To be successful in this role, you’ll bring strong experience within supplier quality, compliance, or manufacturing in a regulated industry such as aerospace. You’ll have a deep understanding of relevant standards such as AS9100 and hands-on experience conducting supplier audits and managing quality issues through to resolution.
You’ll be confident working independently in a field-based role, building strong relationships with suppliers while also influencing and collaborating with internal teams. Strong problem-solving skills, including the use of recognised root cause analysis methodologies, are essential, along with the ability to communicate clearly and produce detailed, high-quality reports.
A proactive and resilient mindset is key, as is the flexibility to travel extensively, including internationally. A relevant engineering qualification and Lead Auditor certification would be highly advantageous.
